Union Made is a good representation of a style trend (movement?) out in force in certain quarters of San Francisco right now. There must already be a name for it but I’d describe it as an aestheticization of the rustic and the rugged — the masculine counterpart to so many of the more feminine “vintage” trends of late. Of course the irony is that the look is mostly cultivated by city dwellers with money, but that’s another story.
